reach : GO program

Here at Haven Baptist Church we recognize that the best way to share our faith with others is to share the changes God has made in each of our lives. Our personal testimony shared with friends, neighbors, work associates, and family can be the most effective outreach.

We also wanted to give our church family other opportunities for reaching our community for Christ. We discovered a program that would help us accomplish this goal. It is called the "GO" program. We have two outreach teams, one called the "G" team, and the other the "O" team. Each team meets once a month. They have the opportunity of choosing between three different outreach choices.

The first choice is the traditional outreach visitation. A two person team will go out and make a personal face-to-face contact. That contact could be for the purpose of soul-winning, welcoming someone to our ar3ea, thanking someone for visiting our church, and encouraging someone who might be going through difficult circumstances.

The second choice is calling someone on the telephone. If you feel comfortable talking on the phone, this outreach opportunity might be just what you are looking for. You could invite someone to Sunday school, check on someone who might be sick, and be an encouragement to people in need. Sometimes people feel free to express themselves on a phone rather than in person.

Our third choice is letter writing. We would like our community to know that there is a church who would love to help and encourage their walk with the Lord. We send letters to people who are just moving into our community.

We pray that this program presents you and our church family the means to faithfully fulfill Christ's great commission.
